Tim's passion for edges comes from his fascination with the concept of 3D. Partially sighted from birth, he only sees in 2D, like a movie screen. This lack of depth perception made translating and recording objects and spaces complicated; he had to rely on changes in hue, shadows and texture to understand how far an object is from him. It also led to his obsession with edges, corners, gaps, alcoves and especially overhanging spaces. The moment when an object disappears and is no longer real.
